Brown Thomas has become the ultimate destination for shopping and socialising, a place that is both steeped in history and totally of the momentvisit Brown Thomas
With four stores across Ireland and a strong digital presence, Brown Thomas is a shopping and cultural icon, inspiring people and curating experiences for over 170 years. Brown Thomas has grown to become an icon of Irish retailing since it opened its Grafton Street doors in 1849. The business grew from humble beginnings as a haberdashery and draper to occupy a central position at the heart of Ireland’s shopping culture.
Harry Gordon Selfridge bought Brown Thomas in 1919, and it was later acquired by Galen and Hilary Weston in 1971 as the first Selfridges Group store. Over the past 50 years, the stores have been continuously re-imagined, providing the very best in customer experience. With award-winning window displays, celebrated fashion shows and an inspiring digital offer, Brown Thomas has become the ultimate destination for shopping and socialising, a place that is both steeped in history and totally of the moment.
